Santorini Three Day Wedding Adventure with Patti & Lawson

March 14, 2019 / Destination
READ MORE

When you want to give your family and friends from Australia and the Philippines a lifetime of adventure, you bring them to Santorini! Patti and Lawson did just that!

Lawson and Patti are both based in Australia but chose Santorini Greece for their wedding day and celebrations. They got married in Cavo Ventus, a private sunset-facing villa that is tucked away from the crowds and noise of Oia.

They included a lot of Greek traditions such as a delicious Greek barbeque, traditional Greek dancing and plate smashing. They also included some traditions from the Philippines where Patti’s family is from. They did a sunrise shoot in Oai the day before the wedding, they had the whole town and sunrise to themselves! They also had an evening shoot at Akra Skaros two nights before their wedding.

The night before the wedding, we joined Patti and Lawson’s family and friends to mingle and get to know more people before the beautiful wedding began the following afternoon.

The wedding was wild and crazy and so beautiful. Last minute, Lawson decided to have ‘The Final Countdown’ song playing for his entrance to the ceremony. They shared the most intimate and personal vows to each other and later impressed all their guests with a dance choreography they had been working hard on.

The day after the wedding, they planned a sunset cruise for any guests that wanted to join in. It was the best post-wedding idea because their guests were relaxed, dived into the sea, enjoyed another Greek barbeque and watched the golden sunset.

After spending 4 days with Lawson and Patti and then meeting all their amazing friends and family, we wished it didn’t have to end but we were very thankful we got to be a part of their celebrations & capture the whole experience.

Three times higher than the Cliffs of Moher, Slieve League sits at 596m tall from the sea. As we peered down the cliff edges, the magnificent landmark dwarfed us as we climbed the path up. This is the one lesser known spot in Donegal worth coming to if you can!

Errigal Summit in a Wedding Dress! – Adventure Session with Jess & Matt

Errigal Teaser Film

You cannot miss Errigal when you are in Donegal. Towering at 751m (2,464 ft) near Poison Glen, Gweedore. We climbed this insane steep mountain with a wedding dress! First, you have to go through deeper than your ankles bog, then charge up the steep hill and finally contend with a 30mph wind blowing in your face! The temperature was around 0 degrees celsius (32F) cold as well, as we waited for the storm clouds to pass.

Rapid changes to weather meant that we had to wrap up, wait and shoot when we can. Jess was an absolute champion as she wore only the wedding dress but we were quick to shoot. It was dark by the end of the hike but it was well worth it!

We love couples who don’t mind getting their feet dirty and going for an adventure like this! Would you?

Swimming in a lake in Sweden with Emalise & Andrew

March 13, 2019 / Destination
READ MORE

Have you ever got to a location and you thought it was something out of a movie? Somewhere in Vasteras (yep it’s pronounced Westeros like in Game of Thrones!) Emalise & Andrew eloped with a small group of family in their ancestral home on an island!

There is so much meaning behind the location of this wedding.

Emalise is from America, Andrew is from Canada. Great grandfather was from Sweden and used to swim in the lake. Lakes are also important to Andrew, he grew up beside the quiet sounds of the lake.

The night before the wedding we were invited to join them at a relatives house for pizza. We were so excited to capture this because we had heard so much about Andrew’s love for frequently eating pizza! It was also really special to meet the Swedish relatives and watch the families bond closer together.

They got married on a very small island, outside a little red house where some of their Swedish relatives grew up. They wanted an intimate wedding with just their parents as guests for their ceremony. The rest of their relatives from Sweden joined them later for dessert & cake. They ended the night with an evening meal back at the Steam Hotel with their parents.

The Mission San Francisco Engagement Shoot – Alicia and Paul

February 23, 2017 / Photography
READ MORE

We had so much fun with these two! Paul’s infectious jokes and Alicia’s laughter made our engagement shoot in San Francisco such a joy! We were shooting their wedding in Ireland over in the next few weeks and what better way to get to know these two than by hanging out with them! We had some of the best vegan sushi we ever had (both of them are vegetarians).

We roamed the streets of The Mission district before heading to Land’s End to what was left of the sunset.

Never mind Alicia’s broke her shoes halfway up and she had to wear Paul’s shoes! Such brilliant sports and they laughed away and had a ball of a time! What a fabulous way to spend a whole afternoon with these two! Good times!

That’s what love is! Giving up one’s shoes!

How to pull off a mountain top proposal – Jonathan and Sarah Blesse

February 22, 2017 / Destination
READ MORE

On the top of the Sierra Nevada mountains with a detour to Yosemite, a young man hatches a plan to finally propose to his girlfriend!  Sit by the fire and hear their story!

Everything had been planned with Jonathan about 3 months before the actual date. Jonathan and Sarah love going on hikes and had planned to go to some amazing places.  He had asked if we could come along and casually “hang out” with them, we hadn’t actually met Sarah before!   However nothing was scripted on the day and everything we caught on film was captured as it happened, except for a little scheming from Jonathan (aka. Big Blesse)!

Sarah had always mentioned that she wanted her friends and family to be there for her engagement. Jonathan is a camp manager over at Hume Lake, and straight after the proposal and little hike down, Sarah was surprised with a beautiful evening tea party!  Their friends really know how to pull off one of the most fantastic engagement parties we’ve been to!

Thank you Jonathan and Sarah, for giving us this adventure of a lifetime and to be part of a moment so special and precious to the both of you.

Historic Seven Sycamores Ranch Wedding, California – Jonathan and Sarah Blesse

February 21, 2017 / Destination
READ MORE

Set outdoors on a ranch near the town of Visalia, California, Jonathan and Sarah stood amongst the vineyard and beautiful sycamore trees with their family and friends, to celebrate a moment never to be repeated again.

“Jonathan saw me in a photo about 6 months before we met. He asked our mutual friends about me but had no success in getting any of them to connect us. As the months passed his curiosity wouldn’t subside, so he reached out to me directly asking for a date. Much to his surprise, I accepted! At the time I was living in Orange County and he was in Kings Canyon, so he drove 6 hours to take me to coffee…and the rest is history. We spent the next year and a half driving back and forth, 6 hours each way, just to get a short weekend together. It didn’t take long until we knew we wanted to be together forever.” – Sarah (Watch their proposal)

So on a mid-autumn day with a large gathering of 300 friends and family, the final piece of the jigsaw was added. The day captured Jonathan and Sarah so perfectly in their own fun and crazy way – from blissful memories retold of the quiet, romantic moment of them meeting each other for the first time, to the tasty tacos that everyone had for dinner, their simplicity and love were shown in everything. And with an amazing venue like Seven Sycamores, it just goes to show you don’t have to spend a fortune to enjoy that special day!

If you want to believe that love and fun can go together, then look no further than the Blesses, a truly amazing couple. Oh did we forget to mention Jonathan’s beard!  Man Love!
